Planning a destination wedding with Artisti
01 /What is Artisti Weddings?
Artisti Weddings is a boutique design and destination wedding planning agency based at Applebys Plads 29 in Copenhagen, Denmark, owned and operated by A+A Media & Events. We plan in fourteen countries across Europe, the United States and Mexico, from elopements for two to weekend celebrations with several hundred guests.
We are designers as much as planners. Every wedding starts with your story: how you met, the places you love, the feeling you want your guests to leave with. From there we shape a concept, find the venue, assemble the right local team and carry every detail through to the last dance, so that on the day itself, you can simply show up and enjoy it.
02 /Where can Artisti Weddings plan my wedding?
We plan weddings in 78 destinations in fourteen countries. In Southern Europe that means Greece (Santorini, Mykonos, Paros, Naxos, Crete and more), Italy (Lake Como, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Venice, Puglia, Sicily and Sardinia), Spain, Portugal, France and Turkey.
Further north we plan Scandinavian weddings in Denmark, Sweden and Norway, think Copenhagen, Stockholm, the ice hotel at Jukkasjärvi and the Norwegian fjords. Across the Atlantic we cover the United States and Mexico, from Miami, Hawaii and Las Vegas to Tulum, Cancún and San Miguel de Allende. We also plan weddings in the European hotspots of Cyprus, Malta and Gibraltar.
Not sure yet? That is completely normal. Tell us what you love, sea views, vineyards, old cities, mountains, and we will suggest destinations that fit your style, season, guest list and budget.
03 /What wedding planning services do you offer?
We offer full wedding planning, partial wedding planning, wedding day coordination, civil wedding ceremonies (including civil unions, vow renewals and elopements), venue & supplier recommendations, and luxury wedding workshops for couples and industry professionals.
Every service is personalised. Some couples hand us the whole journey from the very first idea; others have already booked a venue and want an expert to bring it all together; others simply need a calm, experienced coordinator on the day. We will recommend the level of help that genuinely suits you, never more than you need.
04 /What is the difference between full and partial wedding planning?
Full wedding planning covers everything, from the first consultation to the final farewell: concept and design, budget, venue search, every supplier (photographer, florist, caterer, music, stationery, transport), guest logistics, the legal paperwork, the timeline, and full coordination on the day. It is ideal for destination weddings, where you are planning from a distance and need someone on the ground you can trust completely.
Partial wedding planning is for couples who have already started organising, perhaps you have your venue and a few key suppliers, and want a professional to fill the gaps, refine the design and take over the coordination. We step in exactly where you need us, review what is already booked, and make sure everything works together as one beautiful day.
05 /Who will plan my wedding?
Each destination has a dedicated planner who knows its venues, suppliers, seasons and paperwork inside out. Maria Iliadi plans our weddings in Greece; Elle Catroux covers Italy, France and Turkey; Sofia Esteban looks after Spain; Isabel Duarte plans Portugal; Darya Stepanenko plans Denmark, Sweden and Norway; Bella Evans covers the United States; and Sandie Rivera plans weddings in Mexico.
Your planner will be your single point of contact from the first call to the day itself, supported by the wider Artisti team in Copenhagen.
06 /Can you help with a civil ceremony, vow renewal or elopement abroad?
Yes, and we love them. We organise legal civil wedding ceremonies, civil unions, vow renewals and small, intimate elopements for just the two of you (or a handful of guests).
Getting legally married abroad involves paperwork that varies from country to country: usually passports and birth certificates, often a certificate of no impediment, and sometimes apostilled and translated documents submitted weeks in advance. We guide you through exactly what your chosen country requires, liaise with the local registry office, and arrange the ceremony location, officiant, translator and witnesses where needed. Many couples also choose a quick legal ceremony at home and a symbolic ceremony abroad, we can advise on what is simplest for you.
07 /Do you recommend venues and suppliers?
Yes. We only recommend venues and suppliers we know and trust: wedding venues and resorts, photographers and videographers, florists, caterers, musicians, hair and makeup artists, stationers and transport. Among our preferred partners are Le Mas de La Rose in Provence, Château de Cop-Choux in the Loire Valley, Hotel L’Orangeraie on the Mediterranean and wedding photographer Sla Karvounis.
Recommendations are always matched to your style, guest count and budget, a cliffside terrace in Santorini and a vineyard estate in Tuscany call for very different teams, and we negotiate and manage every contract on your behalf.
08 /How far in advance should we start planning a destination wedding?
We recommend starting 12 to 18 months before your date, especially for popular summer weekends in Greece, Italy and the Amalfi Coast, where the most sought-after venues book up early. That gives time to visit, secure the venue and key suppliers, and send save-the-dates so guests can arrange travel.
Shorter timelines are absolutely possible, we have planned beautiful weddings and elopements in just a few months, particularly outside peak season or for smaller guest lists. Get in touch with your ideal date and we will tell you honestly what is achievable.
09 /When is the best time of year for a destination wedding?
It depends on where you marry. In the Mediterranean, May, June and September are the sweet spot: warm, golden light without the peak heat and crowds of July and August. Scandinavia shines from June to August with long, light summer evenings, or in winter if you dream of snow, northern lights or the ice hotel. Mexico and the Caribbean are at their best from roughly November to April, outside the rainy and hurricane season.
Your planner will walk you through weather, sunset times, local holidays and peak pricing for your destination, so you can choose a date that looks and feels just right.
10 /Do we need to visit the destination before the wedding?
It is lovely but not essential. Many of our couples plan entirely remotely: we hold video consultations, send venue films and photographs, share mood boards and samples, and organise online tastings where possible.
If you would like to visit, we will plan an efficient site visit, usually two or three days, with venue tours, menu tasting and meetings with your key suppliers, so you leave with every major decision made.
11 /Can you look after our guests as well?
Absolutely. Destination weddings are often a long weekend for everyone, and we can help with guest accommodation blocks, airport transfers, welcome bags, a welcome dinner or beach party, day-after brunches and excursions. We can also prepare a guest information page or pack with travel tips for your destination, so your family and friends feel looked after from the moment they land.
12 /How do I start planning my destination wedding with Artisti?
Send us your inquiry through our contact page or email info@artistiweddings.com. Tell us as much as you can, your preferred destination (or the kind of place you dream of), approximate date, number of guests and the style you love, but don't worry if you are still undecided.
Your planner will get back to you to arrange a relaxed, no-obligation consultation, where we will get to know you, answer your questions and suggest the best way forward for your wedding.
